February 2007

I think I spoke too soon. We only captured the weather for the first four days of February. Nevertheless, here's the graphs for the first four days of February's temperature, average wind speed, wind speed (with gusts), wind direction, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity and hours of sunshine.

The dataset we have for February is here in Access 2007 format and here in Access 2003. It is also here as an Excel 2007 spreadsheet and here as an Excel 2003 one. The file convertor pack to allow the older versions of Office for PC are available from Microsoft.

January 2007

Most things seem to be working now apart from the rainfall detector which seems to have stopped recording after the recent floods! December 2006

Whilst we got the wind speed detector fixed, doing so meant that we lost the data for December. Hopefully it will be OK again for January 2007.

November 2006

We still appear to have problems with the connections to the wind speed detector. We're trying to fix it as soon as possible -- hopefully fixed as of 18 December 2006.

October 2006

OK, so we have data but now the wind speed sensor is playing up again! It has to be something to do with the connector that rusted out previously (the only cheap part supplied with whole thing was the alloy connectors in the cables). We will try and get the scaffolding up to fix it soon -- provided it doesn't get too wet and windy that is.

September 2006

The system was reset (eventually, after a number of tries) and the data for September was then collected correctly.

August 2006

For some reason, August's data got well and truly mixed up in the machine in the loft. The only thing we can think of was something that was sent to the machine when we were trying out the first beta of Windows Vista. Unfortunately, we never found out that it was all wrong until after the end-of-month should have completed -- but failed. Oh well.

February 2006

Hooray! The intermittent connection was repaired during February. There is a small break in the data set (when everything was shut down for the repair to be made) after which the wind speed and gusts are back in action.

January 2006

Note that the weather station is still playing up. It seems that there's an intermittent connection on the anemometer giving a zero reading when the wind is from some directions.
